The driver was headed south on 17th Street toward Broadway when her 2016 Nissan hit the couple's parked Toyota and then struck them as they were walking to a nearby residence, Sgt. Brian Metzler told Daily Voice.

The woman, 25, who lives in Fair Lawn, suffered a significant leg injury, he said.

Her male companion -- 27, from Washingtonville, NY -- had back and injuries, Metzler said.

Both were taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson.

No summonses were issued following an investigation, the sergeant said.
